3,700 sf ground-up construction of a Net Zero learning center to serve as the Mass Audubon’s hub of all environmental education. Designed and built to achieve a Zero Energy Building Certification from the International Living Future Institute the building produces more renewable energy than it consumes on an annual basis.
The Environmental Learning Center at the Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm is a testament to Chapman Construction’s attention to detail and high-quality workmanship. They proved open and trustworthy partners in a highly-collaborative design and construction process, sharing the collective vision and goals of the client and the design team. During construction, they effectively managed the project schedule, coordinated tradespeople, and offered proactive solutions. They demonstrated a practical understanding of building science and applied advanced building techniques to produce results consistent with the design, air infiltration measurements exceeding Passive-House-level standards, and a net-positive-energy project.” –Maclay Architects
