John began working in the construction industry over twenty years ago, starting out in New York and eventually moving to Massachusetts in 2001. He spent his first ten years at Chapman working in construction management in various capacities. John transitioned to focus solely on sustainability, high-performance building, and decarbonization in 2022. He was charged with reinvigorating and expanding Chapman’s sustainability efforts as the company announced its commitment to carbon neutrality with no offsets by 2030.

In his role, John leverages his passion and expertise in sustainability to drive our carbon neutrality efforts and serve as a key resource for integrating sustainability into our construction projects. He also leads our internal sustainability group, advancing corporate sustainability initiatives and supporting engagement with sustainability-focused partners. Additionally, John manages Chapman’s participation in the Contractor’s Commitment to Sustainability program.

When John isn’t at work, you can find him outside, biking and trail running, or spending time with his wife and three daughters (and their Great Pyrenees, three cats, and flock of chickens!) He is engaged in his community, volunteering with the Sherborn Yacht Club, town Energy Committee, coaching youth sports, and helping build and maintain local trails.
