On Wednesday, October 11, Project Hope celebrated the grand opening of its new Community Building in Roxbury, which consolidates the organization’s many vital services under one roof. Speakers included Project Hope’s Executive Director Sister Margaret Leonard (left), Boston Mayor Thomas Menino (left), and State Representative Marie St. Fleur.
The well-attended event featured tours of the new building, a demonstration of the new computer lab, and profiles of four successful Project Hope-assisted families. Chapman was praised by Project Hope for its management of the building’s construction and its sensitivity to the neighborhood throughout the project.
Chapman’s entire Project Hope team was present at the event, including: President John Hall; project management staff George Dyroff and Adam Guild; and site staff Bill Shomphe, John Bidgood, Mike Bittelari and Jardson Nascimento. Chapman and Project Hope are seeking LEED certification for the project, which would make it the first certified “green” building in Roxbury.
