Restoration of the historic Hart House’s facades, portico, and extensive porch and railing systems, all of which had fallen into disrepair and had been altered over time. Chapman researched the building’s original appearance, and with the approval of the Newton Historic Commission, restored the historically-correct details while utilizing low-maintenance materials such as plaster/fiberglass composition scamozzi capitols and structural fiberglass columns and bases.
