WIT Student Job Shadow

Chapman recently hosted three students from Wentworth’s Construction Management program for a full-day professional job shadow. Although the students might’ve expected to spend the day at a desk, we devised a program that would keep them moving and engaged, starting with a tour of our LEED-CI Platinum office and followed by one-on-one meetings with a wide array of our staff members. Through these informational interviews, we gave the students a full picture of the office roles ranging from Project Assistant to Executive Vice President, and the field roles from Assistant Super to Senior Super.

In the afternoon, the students stepped out of the office and headed to Lowell for a tour of two active construction projects. Chapman’s site staff described their roles and responsibilities, their career growth opportunities, and the importance of teamwork on every project. We would like to thank all the Chapman folks involved with the job shadow day – Azi Namvar, Andy Loomis, Chris Draper, John Ferreira, Dennis LaRosee, Mark Johnson, Tom Hansen, and Guy Compagnone — for sharing their time and experiences with the students.
