It has been another busy summer here at Chapman, but before it slips completely away, we’d like to share some recent project news that we’re excited about.
Earlier this summer, we completed a two-floor, 30,000 sf buildout for The Cadmus Group in Waltham. The project is seeking LEED Silver certification with the potential for achieving Gold. By employing Chapman’s Waste Management Plan, our team achieved a 93.9% recycling rate for all construction & demolition debris. The project included new high-efficiency heat pump mechanical systems with DDC controls, a new flex head sprinkler system, and new high-efficiency lighting. Finishes included low-VOC paint, FSC certified wood, high recycled content drywall, ceiling and carpet tile, and FloorScore hard surface flooring. The base building restrooms were also upgraded with water saving low-flow fixtures. Chapman partnered with architects DiMella Shaffer & Associates, Inc. and RDK Engineers on The Cadmus Group project.
Later this month, we’ll wrap our four-floor, 51,000 sf LEED buildout for the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in Newton, representing a major enhancement and expansion over their former campus. The school’s choice to pursue LEED certification was based on their wish to provide their more than 300 students, staff members, and patients with a healthy and comfortable environment. The project includes extensive use of daylight and views, major upgrades to base building infrastructure including high-efficiency mechanical systems, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and low-emitting materials. Chapman partnered with Gensler as the architect and WSP Flack and Kurtz for engineering.
In addition to the Cadmus Group and MSPP projects, we’ve also completed numerous projects for Boston University, Nuance Communications, Columbia Gas, Blu Homes, L-3 Communications, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (pictured below).
